Hollywood, Broadway, regional theater, gate keepers with a ton of resources as well as the actors who audition and work for them have been operating under the following casting practices: 1. Hire the “best” person for the job. 2. If they can pass as this ethnicity, costumes and design will support it. 3. It’s illegal to ask a person’s ethnicity, anyway. 4.
